Dimapur, July 7 (EMN): Eleven more people have tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, taking the total tally of the state to 636.
This was informed by the minister of Health, S Pangnyu Phom, through a social media update on Tuesday morning.
"Out of 313 samples tested, 11 fresh positive cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed. 10 from Mon & 1 from Kohima," the minister tweeted on Tuesday morning.
At the time of writing this report, Health authorities in Nagaland have declared 243 patients as ‘recovered’ and 393 as active cases with zero deaths.
It may be mentioned that Nagaland recorded its first Covid-19 positive case on May 25 when three returnees tested positive for the virus.
The number of Covid-19 positive cases breached the 100-mark as 13 returnees from Chennai tested positive for the virus, taking the state’s tally to 107 on June 6.
Subsequently, the number of Covid-19 positive cases crossed the 300-mark as 50 returnees tested positive for the virus, taking the state's tally to 330 on June 23.
Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 recovered cases in the state reached the 100-mark on June 16 as 11 more returnees tested negative for Covid-19 in their second test, taking the recovered tally to 103 in the state.
As of July 7, Peren has the highest cases among the districts with 167 active cases, followed by Mon with 72 active cases. Kohima has 67 active cases; Dimapur has 56 cases; Tuensang has 20 cases; Phek has eight cases, while Mokokchung has two cases and Zunheboto has one case.
