Covid-19 cases in Mokokchung rise to three

Mokokchung, July 8 (EMN): The Covid-19 tally in Mokokchung increased to three on Wednesday, a report by spokesperson from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Mokokchung, informed.

The spokesperson informed that routine TrueNat testing was conducted on July 5, where a female inmate in the Amukloshi quarantine centre under Fazl Ali College campus was tested positive. The sample was sent to BSL-3 lab at Kohima on July 6 for confirmation which resulted positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, the spokesperson confirmed.

The patient is a returnee from Delhi. She is asymptomatic and is now under observation at Covid Care Clinic, Mokokchung. Mokokchung district currently has three active cases with zero recoveries.

Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner, Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir has declared Amukloshi quarantine centre at Fazl Ali College campus under Chuchuyimpang village as containment zone in the larger interest of public health and safety.
