She claims her ‘desire to cheat made him suicidal’ SHE authorized the official documentary Montage Of Heck about her late husband Kurt Cobain, which has been recently released ten years after his suicide. And on Sunday, Courtney Love revealed new details about her marriage to the late Nirvana rocker while promoting the Brett Morgan-directed film during the Tribeca Film Festival at Spring Studio in New York City. In the never-before-seen footage - slated to air on HBO on May 4 - the 50-year-old widow candidly shared: ‘My desire to cheat on Kurt made him suicidal.’ ‘He wanted to stay in the apartment and do heroin and paint,’ Courtney shared in the new documentary. ‘I’m a big flirt - I flirt with chairs,’ she added. ‘I never, never cheated on him, but I certainly thought about it one time in London.’ Courtney inferred that her ‘desires’ may have contributed to Cobain’s 1994 death, at the age of 27, by self-inflicted gunshot. The Hole artist recently admitted that her late husband Kurt Cobain is a ‘hard act to follow’ as a lover. Courtney is currently single and admits watching Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck reminded her of the strong sexual relationship she had with her late husband. ‘I don’t have a boyfriend right now, so I’m single. [The film] made me really evaluate what, at the age of 50, I want out of a relationship. He’s a hard act to follow. I love him and I always will.’ The documentary contains video and audio which Courtney and her daughter Frances - who was just 20 months old when her father died - had never seen and the Malibu rocker says watching the film has helped the artist come to terms with the Nirvana star’s suicide. She said: ‘To see it in that room with my daughter was very cathartic and I was very happy to spend a little time with him and to find out, to see things and hear audio, and see into his heart. ‘It was an important moment of bonding between Frances and me, and I think it’s very healing for our family and for our relationship.’ ‘Many people who’ve suffered the after-effects of suicide, and in Frances’ case, like any child of suicide, she wondered what part she played in it and why wasn’t she important enough?’ ‘I think the film points out that absolutely, without a doubt, from whatever age it is that he starts talking about it, that that was where he was headed.’
