Council of Nagalim Churches calls for nationwide prayer on Naga National Prayer Day on October 18.
DIMAPUR — The Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) has issued a call for prayer to observe the Naga National Prayer Day on October 18 on the theme "Come, and let us return unto the LORD".
According to a statement from the CNC, about 3,000 church and religious leaders gathered and decided to hold a day of prayer for the Naga nation during a prayer summit at Agri-Expo, Chümoukedima, on October 25, 2018.
Consequently, the third Sunday of October was designated to be observed as Naga National Prayer Day at the National Assembly of 2022 held at GHQ, Hebron.
The council stated that it has been observing the third Sunday of October every year, upholding Naga families in prayer. With the prayer day falling on October 18 this year, the CNC sent out a clarion call to all churches, mission centres, prayer centres, and Naga families to observe the day in earnest prayer.
The statement noted that prayer is critical as the nation faces serious challenges, stating that enemies are advancing violently, killing innocent civilians, and destroying houses.
The CNC outlined seven prayer points for the observance: confession of personal sins including pride, corruption, immorality, jealousy, and addiction, alongside national sins of unfaithfulness to God, bloodshed, unforgiveness, hatred, and division; repentance from bad habits, spiritual complacency, marital unfaithfulness, dereliction of duty, and deceit; intercession for the grave situation in parts of Nagalim, victims of violence, public leaders, and peace and prosperity for the general public; intercession for the leadership of the NSCN and Indian leaders for the finalisation of competencies and implementation as per the Framework Agreement; intercession for Naga unity, integration, and deliverance from spiritual blindness and evil powers; prayer believing in God's promises in the Bible to revive the nation; and prayer for the renewal of faith in Christ with thanksgiving.
The council appealed to all Nagas, along with pastors, chaplains, and church leaders, to unite in prayer on the day.
