Kohima, July 8 (EMN): The recently formed Core Committee of the Parliamentary Committee (PC) on Naga Political Issue will hold its first meeting at Rhododendron Hall, Chümuokedima in Dimapur on July 9 at 11 am.
The Minister for Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu, who is also the member secretary of the committee, told journalists on Thursday that it’s scheduled meeting on June 19 was postponed due to the pandemic-induced lockdown in the state.
The government of Nagaland constituted the Parliamentary Committee on Naga political issue in June, to discuss matters related to the protracted Naga issue and play the role of facilitator in the ongoing peace talk between the Government of India and the Naga political groups.
The committee is headed by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as convenor, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton and Leader of Opposition TR Zeliang as co-convenors and Neiba Kronu as member secretary.
