DIMAPUR — A coordination meeting of the committees of state level pre-Subroto-cum-junior football tournament was held on May 28 in the conference hall of Directorate of Youth Resources and Sports (YRS) under the chairmanship of Megolhu Dolie, additional director, YRS.
The tournament will be organised for the first time jointly by the Department of YRS and Nagaland Football Association (NFA) from June 4 to the 12th at IGS Kohima, an update stated.
So far, all 16 districts have confirmed their participation for Boys U-15. For Girls U-17, almost all the districts are expected to set up teams.
The football tournament will be conducted in accordance with the laid down terms and conditions set by Subroto Mukerjee Cup organisers and they will be deputing an observer to oversee the proceedings of the tournament matches.
The winners of the state level tournament will represent Nagaland state at the Subroto Mukherjee Cup, scheduled from July 30 to September 11 in New Delhi.
Before the commencement of the tournament, all the players will undergo a mandatory skeletal test to determine their actual age in order to avoid disqualification during the Subroto Mukerjee Cup.
The match fixtures were drawn for boys U-15 in the presence of K NeibouSekhose, president of the NFA and executive member of the AIFF and Kutu Sekhose, head of referee, NFA.
