Dimapur, March 8 (EMN): District level coordination meeting on National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) and District Task Force (DTF) for Peren district was held on March 6, at Deputy Commissioner (DC) conference hall, New Headquarter Peren.
Chairing the programme, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Peren, Dr. Ngangshimeren, welcomed the members present and expressed his sincere appreciation. He highlighted the meeting agendas and about the formation of District Level Enforcement Squad (DLES) and the training to be conducted for the DLES members.
Addressing the meeting, DC Peren, Zarenthung Ezung, said focus should be given on intensive training and awareness on tobacco control for the success and proper implementation of the program.
District Nodal Officer, NTCP, Dr. Sabino Kuotsu, gave a report on activities of NTCP Peren and highlighted the activities that will be carried in the month of the March. She also informed that awareness to ASHA’s and shopkeepers will be given for Athibung, Jalukie and Tening block. The meeting was attended by DC, Superintendent of Police, vice principal of Peren College, assembly secretary & advisor Zeliangrong Baudi and District Program Officer UIP/RCH.
