Dimapur, May 20 (EMN): Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju has assured that his ministry will leave no stone unturned in its bid to unearth the “criminal nexus”, following the sensational claim by the contract killer Vijay Farmana that he was paid to kill a politician from Nagaland after the Lok Sabha elections.
According to a press statement from the media cell of Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, Rijiju gave this assurance to a group of BJP legislators including Patton, Dr. Longrineken Ao and Khehovi Yepthomi, who met the union minister at his official residence in New Delhi on Monday.
Rijiju assured to pursue the matter with the commissioner of Delhi police with all seriousness and award befitting punishment to anyone found involved in the case irrespective of his/her position. He also expressed optimism that the case will be solved at the earliest possible.
The BJP legislators led by Patton, according to the press release, “discussed about the seriousness of the shocking revelation made by gangster Vijay Farmana, who along with his associates were alleged to have taken a ‘contract’ to kill a politician from Nagaland.”
For a free, fair and thorough investigation, they appealed to the union minister to intervene and involve the MHA in the investigation in order to reveal the identity of the person who had “paid the contract money along with a Ford Endeavour car” as well as the politician targeted.
“The deputy chief minister of Nagaland, who is also the minister in charge of Home, while reiterating the gravity and seriousness of the case, had informed the union minister that the state police were kept on high alert; and a team of Nagaland police headed by an officer in the rank of Inspector General of Police (IGP) were detailed to coordinate with the Delhi police for joint interrogation and investigation thereof,” the press release read.
The BJP legislators also thanked and congratulated the central BJP leadership under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah for their tireless efforts in the just concluded Lok Sabha elections, it stated.
