Kohima, May 27 (EMN): In view of the surge in Covid-19 cases in Phek district and to contain the spread of Covid-19, a consultative meeting of the Phek district legislators, District Task Force (DTF) on Covid-19 and NGOs was held on Thursday at deputy commissioner’s office, Phek.
The meeting discussed on Covid -19 related matters and called for a united effort to combat the spread of Covid-19 pandemic. It was attended Minister for Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Neiba Kronu, MLAs Kuzholuzo Nienu and Chotisuh Sazo, representatives from Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO); Pochury Hoho; Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (CMA); Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) and other civil societies.
During the meeting, the legislators shared their concern on the pandemic and lauded the frontline workers for rendering their selfless services and encouraged them to continue to serve with more dedication, while it had also acknowledged the DTF and all the civil bodies, churches for their tireless efforts.
Earlier, Kronu briefed the house on the latest policy of the state government on Covid- 19 and stressed on the need to initiate the translation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) into local dialects to educate the rural areas.
The meeting was chaired by Razovolie Dozo, Deputy Commissioner Phek.
