Network of Kohima District People Living with HIV/AIDS (KNP+) organized a two-day state consultation to assess the current situation of Widows, Destitute & Single Women Living with HIV in Nagaland supported by Positive Women Network (PWN+) Chennai & UNAIDS from July 22 at Hotel Grandeur, Kohima.
The meeting discussed with various stakeholders to widen care, support and treatment services to widows, destitute & single living with HIV with an immediate need of addressing the various issues and to develop a mechanism to strengthen the linkages with the state government to avail maximum social schemes and entitlements to women.
Participants from districts of Nagaland like Noklak,Tuensang, Kiphire, Mokokchung, Phek, Kohima, Dimapur attended meeting wherein they presented their issues appealing as women living with HIV, experience sharing and recommendations to improve the current situation to different stakeholders including Govt, NSACS, Media, Church’s & NMA in the panel discussion to develop a strategic plan for the welfare of the women community.
