Diphu, Aug. 1 (EMN): CEM of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang initiated a ceremony (Bhoomi Pujan) for construction of new Karbi Bhawan at Dwarka, New Delhi on Sunday.
CEM Tuliram Ronghang said, ‘The completion of the Bhawan will facilitate students and patients of Karbi Anglong, who travel to the national capital for higher studies, medical treatment or for other official purposes as they could stay in the building’.
The ceremony was attended by MP, Horensing Bey, who is also MoS Signatory, MLA, Darsing Ronghang, KAAC Deputy Speaker, Ritish Enghi and Executive Member, Lunsing Teron.
The Karbi Bhawan is one of the conditions presented for the signing of Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) by the erstwhile-armed organisation United Peoples Democratic Solidarity (UPDS). Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone for construction of Karbi and Dimasa Bhawan on August 19, 2019 in Dwarka New Delhi. The estimated cost for construction of the new Karbi Bhawan is estimated at the cost of INR 56 crore, official sources informed.
