Dimapur, Sep. 14 (EMN): Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima Women Cell organized a seminar on constitutional rights of women, with Private Practitioner Advocate at Gauhati High Court Kohima Bench, Zheviholi Swu as speaker.
The speaker spoke on violation of human rights on women and children in Nagaland, problem and difficulties faced by women in the modern society. She also highlighted on sexual harassment at workplace, domestic violence, cyber crime etc.
Swu also explained the fundamental rights of women under the constitution of India, protection of women Act 2003 and cited the non implementation of constitutional schemes for women and children. He also briefed the procedures to avail schemes and on how to register or file a complaint.
Program was attended by all the student-teachers and the teaching staff.
The program was chaired by Assistant Prof. Kavani Hekha whilevote of thanks was proposed by Vesulu Chuzho.
