Conrad Sangma holds consultative meetings with NPP Nagaland leaders

DIMAPUR — National president of the National People’s Party (NPP) and Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma, accompanied by national general secretary Paknga Bage, national secretary Saidul Hussain and national youth president  Nicky Lyngdoh , held a series of consultative and interactive meetings with NPP Nagaland leaders and representatives at the conference hall, Naithu Resort, Chümoukedima, on Saturday.


In a press release, the NPP Nagaland stated that the visit marks a significant step towards strengthening coordination between the national leadership and the party’s Nagaland State unit.


Sangma engaged with various organisational levels and frontal wings to review the party’s progress and discuss strategies for further growth in the state.


The meetings commenced with Nuklutoshi Longkumer, Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, and NPP MLAs, followed by a session with state office bearers led by A Nyamnyei Konyak, state president, to discuss key organisational and structural matters.

The party’s national president also interacted with NPP councillors from Dimapur and Kohima, and later with the state frontal wings, including the NPP Women’s Front (NPWF), NPP Youth Front (NPYF), and NPP Minority Front (NPMF).


During the course of the meetings, representations were submitted by the state units and various organisational wings, highlighting important issues and recommendations to strengthen the party’s structure from the state level down to the district and grassroots levels.


Discussions centred around capacity building, district-level coordination, membership expansion, leadership training, youth and women empowerment, and enhanced communication and outreach mechanisms to ensure effective functioning and unity across all levels.


Sangma appreciated the proactive efforts of the Nagaland state leadership and assured full support and cooperation from the national headquarters.


He called for continued teamwork, discipline, and shared commitment in the run-up to the 2028 Nagaland Assembly elections and the 2029 Parliamentary elections.


The NPP Nagaland leadership expressed deep gratitude to Sangma for his visit and invaluable guidance, reaffirming their dedication to the NPP’s principles of inclusive growth, transparency, and good governance for the people of Nagaland, the release stated.
