Anglers Association of Nagaland observes Fish Migration Day DIMAPUR, JUNE 18: Continuing with its attempt to promote the sport of angling and the idea OF fish conservation in the state, the Anglers Association of Nagaland on Saturday celebrated World Fish Migration Day with game-fishing enthusiasts and a sizeable number of children here at Noune Resort, Dimapur. As part of the event, the organizers had roped in the service of India’s renowned angler, Dereck D’Souza from Mahseer Trust Bangalore as the resource person. It was informed that the number of participants at the event were 60 with children accounting for 25, which is no mean feat, considering it was the first time that AAN was observing the occasion.The children were educated on migratory fishes, dams and on the critical aspects of indigenous fish species of Nagaland. They were also taught about the techniques of angling and how to release it. They also participated in drawing and painting competitions where they drew and painted migratory fishes.
