As the current ministers and MLAs of Congress of the state government are incompetent to their assigned roles and responsibilities, they are being called up the Prime Minister Narendra Modi from time to time and are being trained under his supervision. This was stated by General Secretary L Basanta Sharma today while attending the flag hoisting ceremony of a BJP candidate at Sadar Hills.
The flag hoisting ceremony of BJP candidate Thanjamang Kipgen of Bongbalkholen under Sadar Hills ADC was held today morning.
Giving his chief guest speech, L Basanta said that inability of the present Congress government of Manipur to submit Utilisation Certificates (UC) of various development plans and projects is the best example that the government is extremely inefficient and incapable. Failure to submit UCs has led in delays and limitations in sanctioning of funds. He added that apart from ministers and MLAs, many top government officials are being called up at New Delhi from time to time to impart better skills to them.
The BJP State General Secretary also said that full power will be bestowed to the elected ADC members this time, unlike the ADC election of 2010 where the Congress government failed to devolve due power to the elected ADC members. As BJP has come into power in the Centre, ADC will get power and will have separate funds for bringing development in hill areas. L Basanta appealed all the voters to cast their votes to BJP so that real development and welfare of the hill people can be achieved.
He also clarified on the controversy arising out of the ticket distribution system of the party, and said that as there were numerous applicants, it was not possible for the State Unit to give tickets to all the applicants.
BJP candidate Thanjamang Kipgen compared his ADC constituency with that of a garden as there are many tribes and communities co-existing peacefully in the area. He added there were some problems in the earlier ADC election of 2010 as there was no power devolution due to boycott by the ‘Brother Nagas’ even though Kukis welcomed the election.
But this time, he said that, it is appreciable that the Brother Nagas are taking a keen interest in the ADC election, and expressed hope that real development will be possible in hill areas now.
RTI Cell Convenor of BJP State Unit, M Poireihenba also spoke on the gathering. Later, all those attended in the flag hoisting ceremony prayed for the blessings of Lord Jesus to the BJP candidate.
