Dimapur, Feb. 13 (EMN): Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has formally launched its election manifesto on February 12 by AICC observer, Capt Praveen Dawar. Speaking on the occasion, Dawar said the nation is at the crossroads with one way leading towards a Hindu Rashtra while another towards the right direction of being a secular state. This, he said, has placed a great responsibility upon the people of Nagaland to make the right choice and protect secularism by voting in favour of secularism. NPCC president K Therie said one of the major commitments in the election manifesto was to endeavour to solve the political problem. He also said cashless health card would be issued to all citizens thereby insuring them for free cashless treatment. He also highlighted on ‘One classroom’ for quality education across the state through media so that students do not have to migrate to other cities for want of quality education. He was of the view that it would offset the imbalance in the quality of education. Therie was not averse to working with secular parties leaving aside all party affiliations in the greater interest of the Nagas. He recalled the NPF not expressing regret in losing the alliance with BJP indicating its shift to secularism. He said Congress would support secular minded party to form the government, which according to him is the only option. Therie also assured to deliver 100% benefit to MGNREGA beneficiaries and other benefits under the civil supplies department. He has further assured a secular, corruption-free government with the support of the people.
