- "The chief minister's remark that people, especially
women, who got jobs during the Congress period (2001-2015) compromised their
dignity are completely unacceptable. No chief minister should make such
comments, especially during a sensitive election campaign," Rongpipi said.
- She added that the comment questioned the dignity of every
woman working in government services.
- “We have mothers, sisters and working women in our families.
By making such a remark, the chief minister is targeting every woman in Assam
who holds a government job," she added.
- Meanwhile, the Mahila Congress has demanded public apology
from the chief minister within 24 hours. It has threatened to launch strong
agitation if their demand for public apology is not met.
