- DIMAPUR — Congress
leaders have condemned the protest organised by BJPYM at the premise of
Congress Bhavan in Dimapur without permission, while it also termed the
allegation put forward by the BJP Rajya Sabha MP, Phangnon Konyak against Rahul
Gandhi as baseless.
- Briefing media persons at the Congress Bhavan in Dimapur,
president of Dimapur District Congress Committee (DCC), Kutoho Chishi, stated
that the protest on December 20 was unacceptable as the BJYM has not taken
permission from Congress. He also questioned whether they have taken permission
from the law enforcement agencies to close down the shops within its office
premises. Chishi questioned whether BJP party would allow the Congress to carry
out the same act outside their office.
- President of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI)
Nagaland Unit, Chopika Swu, mentioned that the allegation put forward by the
BJP Rajya Sabha MP, Phangnon Konyak, against Rahul Gandhi was baseless.
- Terming allegations without any evidence as a serious case,
Swu demanded the BJP Rajya Sabha MP to produce evident to justify her claim or
tender publicly apology.
- Dimapur DCC general secretary, Kumjimong, claimed that the
only objective of the BJP for the last 10 years was to destroy the Gandhi’s
image by labeling baseless allegations.
- He said Phangnon Konyak’s allegation against Rahul Gandhi
was baseless and questioned whether she has ever spoken about the Oting
massacre in Mon district at the Parliament.
- The AICC national coordinator and in-charge of Nagaland,
Runith Dmellow, said the biggest issue with the BJP was to mislead the people.
Dmellow further accused the BJP of creating agenda instead of working towards
development.
