Conference on Annual Survey of Industries held in Dimapur
Officials and participants during the round table conference on ‘Annual Survey of Industries’ in Dimapur.


DIMAPUR — The National Statistics Office (NSO), Field Operations Division (FOD), Regional Office, Kohima, organised one-day round table conference (RTC) on ‘Annual Survey of Industries’ (ASI) on October 28 at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur.


Representatives from various factories (manufacturing, repairing, cold storage etc) of ASI units participated in the RTC, an update stated.


The conference began with E Renbi Jami, Director of the National Statistics Office (FOD), RO Kohima, giving a brief overview of the Annual Survey of Industries (ASI). Jami emphasised the survey's significance in generating the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) data, which is crucial for informing national policy decisions.


Senior Statistical Officer Avi Thakro presented a PowerPoint presentation and provided hands-on training on the ASI. This enabled the representatives to learn and file ASI returns themselves, accessing the web portal directly.

LK Ngathingkhui, Assistant Director, presented his ‘Experience on ASI.’


The representatives raised queries regarding the filing of returns, which were clarified accordingly. Feedback forms were distributed, and most representatives expressed a desire for more conferences or training sessions. They also stated that they would attempt to compile the Annual Survey of Industries returns themselves.


The programme was chaired by Athuo Kaihrii, SSO, welcome address delivered by R Mhabemo Ngullie, SSO, and Nenghoilhing Haolai, SSO, proposed vote of thanks.
