Dimapur, June 30 (EMN): Two-day training for Community Disaster Preparedness Plan (CDPP) Task Force for Longkei Cluster was conducted by Mon ADP, World Vision India at Longkei and Hongphoi on June 27 and 29 respectively.
The resource persons were from State Disaster Response Force under Home Guard & Civil Defense, Mon unit and medical team led by Pongben and Mankhah ANMs.
Coordinator of Development Facilitation, Longkei Cluster Mon ADP, Temjen Sangtam gave an over view on disaster stressing on human behaviours that increase disaster resilience such as preparedness, response and recovery.
The training imparted both theoretical and practical knowledge on early warning system, search & rescue and first aid.
Participants were apprised on early warning, search and rescue, first aid, shelter management, coordination and assessment and water and sanitation.
The training was attended by village guards, village council members, FBOs and CBOs leaders. Altogether 214 participants representing 4 villages: Longkei, Leangnyu, Wangla and Hongphoi attended the training.
