Dimapur, May 12 (EMN): State government has constituted a State Level Coordination Committee (SLCC) and the District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) for the purpose of the 7th Economic Census which would be conducted in the State along with the rest of the country. State Chief Secretary and the Deputy Commissioners would guide and monitor the activities at the State and district levels respectively.
According to the Economics and Statics department’s notification, SLCC would be headed by the Chief Secretary as the chairman along the Commissioner and Secretary of Economics and Statistics department as member secretary and Commissioner and Secretary of Industries & Commerce, Commissioner and Secretary of Rural Development, Commissioner and Secretary of IT, Labour Commissioner, Director of Industries and Commerce, Director of IPR, Director of IT, Director of Economics and Statistics department, DDG State Regional Office of NSSO (FOD), and Joint Director Economic and Statistics as members.
DLCC would be headed by Deputy Commissioners as chairmen along with District Economics and Statistics Officer as member secretary and General Managers of DIC, District Labour Commissioners, and District Information and Public Relation Officers as members.
According to the terms of reference, the committees would monitor preparedness, progress and hurdles in conduct of the 7th Economic Census in the State on regular basis; ensure complete coverage of the data canvassed through validation against existing database such as State Business Register; prepare report on data correctness based on supervision carried out by the State and NSSO (FOD) supervisors; sensitise the business associations and citizens in general for cooperation; monitor feedback received from DLCC and resolve issues, if any; and to approve the provisional result of the Economic Census at State level.
