Kohima, Oct. 28 (EMN): Yoddha Fighting Championship (YFC) witnessed eight gruelling fights inside the cage and saw some of the best amateurs mixed martial arts fights on Saturday evening to conclude the three-day Combat Sports Festival at the Kohima local ground. YFC is part of the Combat Sports Festival organised by 3E Nagaland (Elite Entertainment Enterprise).
In the main event of professional bout under catch-weight category, Susovan Ghosh of Team Relentless emerged victorious after beating Naresh Goud in the first round via a rear naked choke.
Longstukumba Ao of the Combat Academy, Nagaland remained undefeated by beating his opponent Gajendra Kharatmol of Fit and Fight Club, Mumbai by unanimous decision in the Bantam-weight category.
Avizo Lanamai of Team Relentless, Mumbai beat Reeyan Siddique of Team Deeth, Mumbai by KYO submission in the third round to win the featherweight category. While Mulinuba Moller of the Combat Academy, Nagaland managed to beat his opponent Suhail Solanki of Team Dheeth Mumbai by technical knock-out (TKO) in the third round.
In the competition of the first bout in straw-weight category between Himanshu Gautam of Dvnamic Kickboxing Academy, Delhi and Digvijay Jadhav of Fit and Fight Club, Mumbai, the result was under dispute.
In the fourth bout of Straw-weight category, Matsu Ozukum of the Combat Academy, Nagaland and Ankit Negi of Dynamic Kickboxing Academy, Delhi match ended in a draw.
For women's feather-weight, Anjali Gupta of Genesis- Mysore beat Priyanka Kumari, Delhi by TKO and in Atom-weight category, Akshata Khadkare of Team Relentless, Mumbai beat Tenzin Pema, Delhi via TKO submission in the first round.
CL John, MLA gracing the valedictory function as the guest of honour said the mixed martial arts will encourage more people and players to take a keen interest in the game. He further encouraged the sportsperson to master in one field and not try different sports discipline in order to bring laurel to the state.
