Dimapur, July 4 (EMN): The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has empowered local/colony authorities to check and impose penalty on butchers found flouting municipal guidelines in their respective jurisdiction.
A press release from the DMC on Thursday informed that the rate fixed for pork per kilo is INR 220; INR 180 for pork viscera; INR 190 for beef; and INR 150 for viscera. “As informed earlier, the colony authorities are authorised to impose fine on the butchers who are not processing their livestock at the DMC modern abattoir.
“The pork and beef butchers are informed to put up the rate chart of different items in their respective shops. Also, colony authorities are authorised to close down any butcher shops that are running without DMC trade license,” the statement read.
The colony authorities can impose a penalty of INR 1,000 on butchers caught flouting any of those directives, it stated.
