Dimapur, June 3 (EMN): The Chakhesang National Workers’ Welfare (CNWW) of the NSCN/GPRN has hit out at certain disgruntled individuals from the Chakhesang community who are in, what it termed, as ‘unmandated NTC’ without any endorsement from the community and trying to derail the ongoing hard earned Indo-Naga peace process.
A press release issued by CNWW information and publicity wing claimed that their divisive policies were made evident from the ‘misleading representation’ to the Prime Minister of India dated May 19 followed by a press statement dated May 29.While asserting that the Chakhesang national workers have no desire to create enmity with their brothers and sisters in other Naga Political Groups (NPGs), it hoped that they too would join hands and support the ongoing Indo-Naga peace process than prolonging the suffering of the people. The statement claimed that it has double the number of national workers in the NSCN/GPRN even from the so called Nagas of Nagaland state alone than all six NPGs put together, who have dedicatedly sacrificed the best years of their lives, and firmly rallying behind its Vice President Gen. (retired) Khole and the Ato Kilonser Th. Muivah.
It said NSCN/GPRN has, under the capable leadership of Yaruiwo late Isak Chishi Swu and the Ato Kilonser Th. Muivah, withstood the test of time as the torch bearers of Naga movement both in the home front and even abroad and had wide consultative meetings with all concerned after the ceasefire with the Government of India in 1997. At the 4th consultative meeting, it said Naga public had unanimously endorsed the Naga chief negotiator and Ato Kilonser Th. Muivah and Yaruiwo late Isak Chishi Swu to bring about amicable solution through ongoing peace process with GoI.
Accordingly, it said the historic 3rd August 2015 Framework Agreement was signed by both late Isak Chishi Swu and Th. Muivah. It, therefore, said the fear of ‘hidden agenda’ against Nagas of Nagaland was unfounded because the framework agreement is for all Nagas wherever they are.
It said Naga people are least bothered by those in the scheme of things to further divide the Naga family in their vain hope to invoke the spirit of the old Naga People’s Convention (NPC) of the late 1950s which was engineered by the agents of GoI to rival or hijack the issue from the then undivided NNC. It further stated that India is matured enough and has vast experience in its long run-up against Naga movement that a hitherto ‘baby NGO’ is not the answer to the longest running independent movement in the whole of South East Asia.
