Dimapur, Nov. 25 (EMN): Ostensibly felt ignored, the Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has directed all its units not to attend the Nagaland Legislative Forum’s consultative meeting on Naga political issue convened by the NLA Speaker Dr. Imtiwapang Aier scheduled on December 4.
CNTC contended that if some apex platform of other conglomerations could be invited at the meeting together with all their tribal units, why should the CNTC as an apex platform of three tribes, the Aos, Lothas and Sumis be snubbed or ignored intentionally.
A CNTC statement issued by its media cell stated that it has been vigorously and tirelessly all these while putting its maximum efforts in trying to bring all the NPGs in the negotiating table. While stating that CNTC desperately wanted to attend the said meeting, it however, stated that failing to deliberately acknowledge the sacrifice of the Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) and the CNTC was a pure and intentional step to sideline these organisations who are trying to unite all NPGs and stressing on inclusiveness of all groups for a solution acceptable to all section of the Naga people.
CNTC has taken the move as a direct insult and a deliberate motive of divisive policy of some elected representatives, adding such politics does bode well for a healthy and positive outcome for the already fragmented society.
While alleging that some groups that have been invited in the meeting are always in the government’s favourite list are mouthpieces of some particular group, it stated that such favouritism and biasness has only distanced them from the common people.
CNTC further reminded that the Naga Hoho no longer represents the entire tribes of Nagaland as the tribes under ENPO and CNTC have already disassociated from it.
