Central Nagaland Tribes Council backs Ao Senden's demands for specialist staff and improved healthcare at IMDH before October 31
DIMAPUR — The Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has extended its support to the Ao Senden over its demands for accountable and functional public healthcare at Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), Mokokchung, and urged the state government to take corrective action before the October 31 deadline.
In a statement, the CNTC stated that access to reliable healthcare is a fundamental right. It expressed concern that IMDH, a critical medical facility serving Mokokchung and the wider surrounding region, continues to face administrative apathy, severe shortages of specialist personnel, and underutilised infrastructure.
The council stated that it is unacceptable for patients to be repeatedly compelled to travel long distances or bear heavy financial burdens for basic diagnostic and medical services that should be available at their district hospital.

The CNTC endorsed the demands put forward by the Ao Senden and called upon the Department of Health and Family Welfare to take immediate corrective action before the October 31 deadline.
It urged the Government of Nagaland to deploy a qualified specialist radiologist to IMDH without further delay, revoke all existing staff attachments, and ensure the return of posted doctors and nurses to their designated duties at the hospital.
The council also demanded the immediate operationalisation of the newly constructed Block A to expand patient care capacity.
Stating that the wellbeing of the people cannot be compromised, the CNTC reiterated its support for the Ao Senden and affirmed that it would stand with the organisation in whatever further course of action becomes necessary to secure justice and dignity in healthcare for the region.
