Dimapur, March 22 (EMN): Office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Phek, conducted inter-personal communication through focus group discussion (FGD) with different target groups from March 3 to 15.
The FGD were conducted in all the five blocks. Topics on child health, maternal health, family planning, and adolescent health were covered in 24 sessions held with the pregnant women, lactating mothers, eligible couples and adolescents in eight villages.
Altogether 388 participants participated in the discussions.
According to the CMO press release, the main objective of the programme was to identify their knowledge, attitude and health seeking behaviour etc in the grass root level, and disseminate awareness, give information and educate them on different health issues and services available in the health centres.
The programmes were conducted by district programme manager (DPM), ASHA coordinators, block program managers (BPM) and IEC personnel. Leaflets on different health issues printed in local dialect were handed out to the participants.
