Kohima, Sep. 28 (EMN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will officially launch a state-wide mass social work on September 29 for restoration of damages caused due to the recent rains and landslides. A formal launching programme will be held at the PHQ junction in Kohima at 7 am, where Faith Harvest Church associate pastor Rev. Hopong Kips will pronounce a prayer, followed by a short speech by the advisor to Rural Development Dr. Neikiesalie Kire.
Rio will address the citizens before leading the mass social work. All the district headquarters across the state will simultaneously commence with the social work at 7 am. The state-wide activity will culminate on October 2.
Deputy commissioners will coordinate the works in respective districts by involving all administrative officers along with officers of other line departments.
The social work will also involve elected members, police, ward/colonies of towns, civil society, contractors and tribal bodies.
