Dimapur, June 25 (EMN): State chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, has mourned the demise of Kedizhalhou Yano, who passed away on June 25 in Kohima.
In a condolence message addressed to Mrs Nguri Yano, Rio has described Kedizhalhou Yano as the first matriculate from Dihoma village, who had served the government in various capacities before retiring as joint director of rural development.
Rio stated that as a government servant, Kedizhalhou gave his best years to the service of the state and added that his contributions and sacrifices would be forever remembered. Besides, he had also served the society in various capacities and was an office bearer of the Angami gazetted officers’ krotho (AGOK).
“In my interactions with him over the years, he not only proved to be a good officer but was also a gentleman who had sincere concerns for the people. He is fondly remembered by people in all his places of posting for the sincerity of his work and warmth in his relationship with all,” Rio added.
Rio lamented that his demise is a loss for the Angami community in particular and the Nagas in general adding the vacuum created by his demise would be difficult to fill. Rio further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty God would grant peace and solace during their time of sorrow and grief. He has prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
