The Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) has supported the recent statement of the president of Peren DCC over the authenticity of Chief Minister TR Zeliang’s qualification.
“The chief minister being the chief executive head of the state misled the law by false declaration of his qualification made in the nomination affidavit. It is a case of moral wrong and legal wrong which was rightly pointed out by Advocate KN Balgopal. As such, the concern is not about the required qualification for holding the chief ministerial post but for giving out false declaration/information in the public domain,” KDCC in a press note said.
The KDCC seriously viewed and questioned the credibility that a ‘person of such stature while representing the entire Nagas, by giving out such false declaration which is amounting to cheating the entire public, has no moral right to continue holding the post.’
