Nagaland Home Department announces the names of VIPs who will hoist the National Flag on Independence Day across the state.
DIMAPUR — The Home Department, General Administration, has notified that the chief minister, deputy chief ministers, ministers, and advisors will hoist the National Flag and take the Rashtriya Salute on the occasion of Independence Day on August 15 at various designated locations.
The chief minister will hoist the flag in Kohima, while Deputy Chief Minister (National Highways, Planning and Transformation) TR Zeliang will perform the duties in Peren, and the Deputy Chief Minister (Home and Border Affairs) Yanthungo Patton will lead the celebrations in Mon.
Roads and Bridges Minister G Kaito Aye will hoist the flag in Longleng; Public Health Engineering and Cooperation Minister Jacob Zhimomi in Zunheboto; Power Minister KG Kenye in Meluri; Health and Family Welfare Minister P Paiwang Konyak in Tseminyu; Rural Development and State Institute of Rural Development Minister Metsubo Jamir in Mokokchung; Tourism and Higher Education Minister Temjen Imna Along in Tuensang; Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Village Guards Minister CL John in Chümoukedima; Women Resource Development and Horticulture Minister Salhoutuonuo Kruse in Dimapur; and Housing and Mechanical Engineering Minister Bashangmongba Chang in Shamator.

According to an update, Among the advisors, Science and Technology Advisor Kuzholuzo Nienu will hoist the flag in Kiphire; Water Resources Advisor Tongpang Ozukum in Phek; Agriculture Advisor Mhathung Yanthan in Wokha; School Education Advisor Kekhrielhoulie Yhome in Niuland; Social Welfare Advisor Wangpang Konyak in Noklak; and State Council of Educational Research and Training and Food Processing Advisor Achumbemo Kikon in Bhandari.
Further, the speaker, the deputy speaker, the advisors, and the MLAs who are not listed and are available have been requested to attend the Independence Day function at the Secretariat Plaza in Kohima.
