Cleanliness drive at Diphu town on April 8

Our Correspondent Diphu, April 4 (EMN): With an aim towards making Karbi Anglong clean, a meeting was convened by the Deputy commissioner of Karbi Anglong Mridul Kr. Gogoi along-with various departmental officials at Diphu Circuit house on April 4 Wednesday. After a thorough discussion among various department officials, it was decided that the cleanliness drives would be held on April 8 in around Diphu town from 9-11 am. During the meeting, DC Gogoi said that the use of plastic bag should not be encouraged among the public and that one has to put in a sense of cleanliness mind as for the development of the region there should be a sense of co-operation among the people. Town and country planning officer, Reuben Ronghang said, ‘our nature has to change, our mental mindset should be set up from the very beginning towards clean and tidy living then only there our town can witness a cleaner environment.’ He also highlighted the various cleanliness drives organised by various organsations of Karbi Anglong in the past.
