DIMAPUR — A four-day 6th conference-cum-sports
meet of the Changki Kaketsüri Longjem (CKL) got underway on January on January
6 on the theme “Esüng Emti Metalokjetba Lokti” (Towards a self-reliant society)
with the Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer, as the
guest of honour of the inaugural programme.
The inaugural programme on January 6 evening, Temjenmenba
Pongen, advisor of Transport and Technical Education and chief host of the
conference, addressed the gathering and welcomed all esteemed guests.
An update from the union stated that Sharingain Longkumer
enlightened the gathering by stating that to have a self-reliant society,
people need to follow three Cs- Communication, Coordination, Courtesy. He also
stated that unity is indispensable towards building a self-reliant society.
It stated that Temjenmenba Pongen was the guest of honour of
the sports meet inaugural programme on January 7. He addressed the gathering
and declared the sports meet open.
Meanwhile, the union stated that sports are a catalyst for
character building, personal growth as well as to develop unity. It stated that
the conference added to the palette of expanding one’s knowledge and skills by
playing a crucial role in the development of an individual.
CKL believed that the four-day event would act as a
promising pillar for every Changki native to excel and soar.
