Students of City Law College, Dimapur, visited the Calcutta High Court to gain practical exposure to the judicial system.

DIMAPUR — City Law College (CLC), Dimapur, undertook an educational visit to the Calcutta High Court, the oldest high court in India, on April 2.
According to an update, a total of 26 members, including faculty, office staff, and students, participated in the visit as part of an academic initiative to gain practical exposure to the judicial system.
The court was established in 1862 and is known for its rich legal heritage and historic significance.
The visit was initiated by the City Law College Students’ Union under the guidance of Abigail Yepthomi, Assistant Professor of Law, CLC.

During the court visit, the group was assisted by Kaustav Pal, Upper Division Assistant, Appellate Side, Calcutta High Court. The students had the opportunity to observe live court proceedings for both civil and criminal cases, gaining firsthand insight into courtroom practices, legal arguments, and judicial procedures.
It was mentioned that the visit proved to be an enriching experience, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and the practical application of law.
The college expressed its gratitude to the authorities of the Calcutta High Court for facilitating the visit.
