Dimapur, Feb. 4 (EMN): In a follow-up on the resolution passed at the ‘Northeast region’s political parties convention’, “major political parties” from the region met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Feb. 3, and apprised him of the “dissent and furore” caused by the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in the Northeast. A press statement from the Naga People’s Front (NPF) on Monday informed it was also a part of the delegation.  “The NPF party reiterates that it stands and opposition to this CAB 2016 and also condemns the NDPP-led PDA government of Nagaland for being indecisive and confusing the Naga public with its fickle and inconsistent decisions every other day. “The NPF will be party to all likeminded political parties in the region who stands for the welfare and protection of the indigenous people of the region and not to the political party which is all words and no action,” it stated. The delegation led by Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma included Prestone Tynsong (NPP), Atul (AGP), Prafulla K Mahanta (AGP), Awangbo Newmai (NPF), Keshav Mahanta (AGP), Jitendra P Baishya (AGP), Mevar Kumar Jamatia (IPFT), and P Choudhury (AGP).
