Dimapur, Aug. 14 (EMN): The Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) at 4th mile, Dimapur has announced that it will be resuming all its services from August 17, 2020.

This was informed through an update from the CIHSR office.

The institute has assured that all the areas that were previously affected by Covid-19 have been sanitised. 'All staff who were infected by Covid-19 and have since recovered under stringent recommended criteria from CDC/ICMR and the state health department will be allowed to work again at the patient areas. However, only non-infected staff or recovered staff will manage the patient interface sections of the hospital,' the update stated.

According to the update, the CIHSR has put in place all precautionary measures to prevent the infection and the transmission of Covid-19 within the hospital. Protocols have also been established in case of emerging Covid-19 infections among staff and patients.

An isolation ward of 10 beds for serious Covid-19 patients is fully functional and will be used as an interim stay for stabilising Covid patients before being transferred to the Covid-19 hospital.

"Measures have been taken to ensure that there is continuity of service for dialysis patients who may incidentally become positive for Covid-19 while under treatment. Measures to educate the patients and their relatives about the Covid-19 situation and its appropriate response will continue," the update stated.

According to the update, CIHSR will continue to work closely with the state health department and other agencies in areas of communications, protocol updates, testing, training, education and networking.
