Dimapur, Nov. 5 (EMN): Kohima Liangmai Baptist Church, D Block under Liangmai Baptist Association (LBA) observed the World Sunday School Day on Sunday, Nov. 5 at the church premises.
On the occasion, Pastor N Silubo reminded the congregation that the first Sunday school was started by Robert Raikes in the City of Gloucester in England in 1780.
He said during early days, reading of arithmetic and Bible were taught in Sunday school and the much preferred was to teach the importance of Christian education.
The pastor also exhorted the church Sunday school children.
Further, he extended his appreciation to Liangmai Sunday school teachers for taking effort in preparation the children’s activities.
Meanwhile, the Kohima Liangmai Baptist Church Sunday School department also took the children for sightseeing to Highland Park Kohima to strengthen the bond among the children.
ZBC: Along with the rest of the world, Zeme Baptist Church, Kohima observed the World Sunday School Day on Nov. 5. On the occasion, Sunday school children presented action songs and other items.
