Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful to even mention what the disobedient do in secret. Ephesians 5:11-12.
Secretive sins are committed in the dark; like the unfaithful who ventures out at night with a little naughty thought in them. The acts of some of these guilty ones are like the wife of potiphar who tried to seduce an anointed man of God to sleep with her. The strong refusal of the saint enraged her darkened mind which caused her to utter lies against him like Satan. Even in the midst of her continual seduction to come to bed with her, he not only shut the door to her face but he refused even to be with her. Though he had to suffer for a short period of time for no fault of his, the future which awaited him was bright. Joseph did not let go off love and faithfulness and as he held on to his integrity, God exalted him to an envied post which was next only to the king (Prov. 3:3,4)
This saint did not commit himself to a sinful course but cared more for his integrity as much as he loved God. A deep secret of his success was that he knew he was not serving them but God and the result of his commitment was just in accordance with his dreams. There are also some who wants to be like him, but the evils in them somehow tempts them to sin secretly. I trust there may be smiles on some faces but the reality is, there will be no smiles in hell, only pain and eternal anguish. Though i do not intend to hurt anyone with these harsh words, the truth has to be spoken. The scripture clearly says,” Everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. (John 3:20) There has to be perfection, a sin is still a sin, and if the sinners are like cockroaches, they will scurry like them when the light shines against them.
Make no mistake in this, when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, their nakedness were exposed and for fear of God they hid themselves. The same guilt is experienced by everyone who sins and it will be unwise to heap sin upon sin. For every sin there are consequences and it is always much better not to sin than to suffer because of it. Since perfection is what we are living for, we must not stain ourselves by any sin which may defile us. The church has this to write that relationship is what we are living for and to live out of it will mean greater woes for the guilty husbands and wives and even children. Seriousness is expected on the part of everyone and it has to be genuine.
The 1st Epistle of John states, “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love (1 John 4:18) To be perfect in love, sin has to be shunned totally and holiness has to be embraced passionately. Quoting from my own words, no matter whatever the nature of our works are, the Lord knows those who truly loves and honors Him. And in life it is so dangerous not to win God’s honor but most honorable to win His love. Often so many of us are controlled by this mentality of what others will think, we do this or that and it is an issue in itself. The notion is this, if we live by the truth, we will have no fear of anything, excepting God. Thus the Gospel accounts “But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done though God.” (John 3:21) This is confidence, this is light and the lives of the children of God must get better and better. However if your confidence is in yourself, you will surely fall but if it is in Christ, you shall never be put to shame. On the contrary, you shall be raised up to the highest level if you continue to grow in love, in faith and holiness. This is the promise, a promise to believed and received. You shall have no regrets but if you are to miss it your own heart will prick you. However for us who are of the truth we have this to our faith, that the one who calls is faithful and will bring it on to completion till the day of Christ return (Philippians 1:6). The seeds are now sown.
