Dimapur, Feb. 25 (EMN): The Christian Education Ministry of Kumlong in Mokokchung district conducted its first ‘teachers’ mentor’s orientation’ program ‘with special emphasis on Sunday school children,’ on Feb. 24 at the Kumlong Baptist Church.
The organisers issued a press release on Sun. offering details about the event. Twenty-three teachers attended the orientation, it was informed.
The resource person for the event was Arenla, lecturer at Clark Theological College in Mokokchung. “Ms. Arenla while addressing to the gathered teachers mentioned that each teacher is a mentor and so the mentor should have a clear understanding of oneself, learner’s and also one’s vocation,” the press release stated. She told the gathering that mentors can influence people through their character, knowledge, and skills, the updates stated.
The updates stated the resource person as having said that the ability to relate well with others is of prime importance because mentors are in the ‘people business.’ Jesus has set the best example for spiritual mentoring through his life and ministry, the updates stated.
The objective of the program was to help individuals identify their potential ‘in self and nurture them for “wholistic” development, the organisers said. That would ‘ultimately lead them to an intimate relationship with God,’ the press release stated.
