DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 16: MLA and chairman NIDC Ltd, Tovihoto Ayemi, called upon the church leaders to work in unison as in their service with the Lord and spread the message of unity in all their respective areas.
Exhorting the gathering on the first day of Sumi Baptist Convention (SBC) silver jubilee at Trinity Theological College, Thahekhu village, on October 14, Tovihoto Ayemi said jubilee is a time to look back and thanked the pioneers for their farsightedness and sacrifices. Stating that Sumi Christianity was more than 100 years, he encouraged people to grow spiritually and attain maturity.
He also called upon church leaders to work in unison as they were all working for the Lord and to spread the message of peace and unity in their respective churches and areas.
Stating that 99% of Sumis are Christians, he challenged the Sumi church leaders to work towards achieving 100% and glorify God.
He also it was an achievement for the TTC Thahekhu to host the convocation of the Senate of Serampore College (University).
Executive Secretary of WSBAK, Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi, delivered the sermon and spoke about unity and loving one another. He also unveiled the jubilee monolith.
Senior pastor of Thilixu Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Yehevi Zhimo, released the jubilee souvenir.
