Fire-works, bone-fire, dancing and singing marked the concluding night of the second edition of the 4-day Chumukedima Night Bazar held at the town local ground.
Former chairman of Chumukedima Town Committee, Batuo Kuotsu, the guest of honour in the closing ceremony in his address lauded the organizers for organizing the Night Bazar, which he said was a welcome event in the cosmopolitan Chumukedima town.He said events such as the night bazaar provided an opportunity to citizens, both from Chumukedima and adjoining areas, to come and do shopping as well as enjoy various entertainment programmes during the festive season.
Koutsu expressed optimism that the night bazaar would grow bigger and better each passing year. The former CTC chairman also urged the oraganizers and volunteers of the night bazaar to remain vigilant so that such events meant for family funs and entertainment are not marred or spoiled by unruly incidents.
The guest of honour also lighted the bone-fire to mark the night-long celebration.

It may be mentioned the second edition of the Chumukedima night bazaar with more than 150 stalls drew a large number of visitors including from Dimapur. Many of the stalls like handicraft and eateries run by local entrepreneurs and youth ran out stock by Sunday evening due to popular demand.
This year, the night bazaar was jointly organized by CCCTA, Chumukedima Town Students’ Union and Chumukedima Town Council.
