Dimapur, August 29 : Members of the Chumukedima Area GBs' Association have has ‘consultative meeting’ with ‘all the 58 constituent villages’ as part of the group’s bid to “promote co-ordination and understanding among the member villages for all round development of the area.”
A note from the Chumukedima Area GBs’ Association stated on Monday that ‘interactive meetings’ in four phases began on August 3 at Diphupar 'A' followed by Seluophe village on the 10th, Chumukedima town on the 17th and Padumpukhrl on the 24th.
“All the members, during the interaction, expressed the need to closely work together to bring the people of the area together, setting aside tribalism, considering the fact that the area being within the district administrative head quarter is a home to all the tribes of Nagaland,” the association stated. “The meeting also stressed on the need to collectively work towards ushering in peace and maintaining public order in the area.” The GBs also decided on ‘plans’ to “find ways and means to develop the area through proper co-ordination of the member villages.”
The Chumukedima Area GBs' Association expresses gratitude contributors for the “success of the consultative meeting” and also to member-villages for “their active participation and sharing their valuable opinions and ideas.”
