Dimapur, April 24 (EMN): Chümoukedima Town Students’ Union (CTSU) has sought redressal on shortage of teachers and text books at Government Higher Secondary School, Chümoukedima, within 30 days and warned that failure to meet its demand within the stipulated time would compel the students' community to undertake agitation.
In a representation to the Director of School Education, CTSU highlighted its grievances on the shortage of teachers at Government Higher Secondary School, Chümoukedima town.
It mentioned that after the promotion of sociology teacher, Mathang, the post has been left vacant without replacement till date. It added that with the retirement of maths teacher, functioning of the school has been greatly affected.
The representation jointly appended by its president Kezhawelie Richa, general secretary Kenivi Yhoshü, and Head GB Kelenguzo Kuotsu, stated that several appeals to the education department through applications and news publicity have turned a deaf ears to the competent demand of the school and the union.
It also pointed out on the shortage of text books. The union alleged that text book for Class VII was short by 75%, while for Class VIII it was short by 50%.
In the light of the above stated circumstances, the union urged the Director of School Education to look into the matter within a period of 30 days from the date of receiving the application. It warned that failure to meet its demand within the stipulated time would compel the students' community to undertake agitation.
