Dimapur, Nov. 30 (EMN): Chümoukedima Area Baptist Pastors Fellowship (CABPF) celebrated advent Christmas at Ao Baptist Church Chümoukedima on November 29.
CABPF report stated that the former governor of Odisha Dr. SC Jamir, in his Christmas greetings, said it was a first time for him to speak Biblical principles after 60 years of political speech. Jamir said, “Christmas is a time of happiness as it comes only once in a year and we should be positive towards Christmas celebration.”
He said when Jesus was born he brought humanity with divinity and humility with him. He, therefore, encouraged the congregation to adopt good example from Jesus and have good relationship with God.
Jamir also encouraged the congregation to be in the sight and touch with God both spirituality, upright in morality, and work for the church during Christmas. He further urged to worship God with true heart.
The speaker and former general secretary of Asia Pacific Baptist Federation (ABPF), Rev. P Bonny Resu spoke on the topic “He came to save his people from their sins” (Matt. 1: 21). He reminded the congregation giving an example saying, “we are special people.”
Pastor of Chang Baptist Church Chümoukedima, Zachariah Chang, led the programme, while Rev. Manen Longkumer, CABPF president, proposed the word of appreciations and Robert Aley, general secretary of CABPF, proposed the welcome note.
The programme included Christmas carol and special presentations by Chümoukedima area churches.
