Dimapur, May 11 (EMN): Amid nationwide lockdown in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic, the ministry of Home Affairs, government of India, has relaxed restriction and facilitated inter-state movement of stranded students, migrant workers, tourists, pilgrims and others to reach their respective destinations, but the Chümoukedima Hindu Society (CHS), Nagaland, has requested its stranded members to stay where they are till the lockdown is lifted.
In a press release issued on Monday, the CHS has informed that ‘if any person from Hindu community(s) of Chümoukedima jurisdiction intends to return or come back to Chümoukedima, Nagaland, has to follow the Government guidelines and strict health protocols’.
“However, CHS hereby advised to those persons whose return is a must and unavoidable can do so after contacting and taking proper approval from the district administration of the state, if not kindly stay back where you are until the lockdown is lifted and the situation comes to normal fearing that after arrival it might increase the risk of infection,” the press release stated.
It went on to state that if anyone is found entering its jurisdiction illegally, “CHS shall report it to the authority concern for stringent action”. While stating that the society would “continue to monitor the movement of our people within Chümoukedima jurisdiction”, it further said it needs the support and co-operation of wards, colonies and public leaders.
