Dimapur, Feb. 22: Chümoukedima village celebrated its foundation day on February 21 at village council hall.
Speaking on the occasion, VEC chairman Kengulie Shüya, while reminiscing history of the village, said the village was one of the oldest villages of Chakhro Angami area. He reminded the gathering to foster unity and understanding in the community by inculcating a sense of responsibility for the village welfare.
Head GB Chümoukedima town, Kelenguzo Kuotsu exhorted the congregation to strive for moral values and build the community on the strength of the integrity of its people. Chakhro Public Organization (CPO) general secretary, Zakievisie Kruse, who also exhorted the gathering, paid rich tributes to the pioneers and ancestors of Chümoukedima and acknowledged their sacrifices. He also stressed on socialising and partaking beyond one’s comfort to strengthen the community.
Meanwhile, special awards for Outstanding Community Service were given to Dietholezo Shüya, Kuobeizo Medoze, Vikhwe Yhoshü and Viechübeizo Sokra.
The programme was chaired by CVC chairman Razouvotuo Chatsu, while CVBC assistant pastor Pukrosül Kin invoked God’s blessing and Head GB Zeno Kire proposed the vote of thanks. Women group also presented folk songs.
