Achumbemo Kikon along with others releasing the souvenir of
Chukitong Range Students’ Union during its golden jubilee in Chukitong town on
Wednesday.
WOKHA — The Chukitong Range Students’ Union
(CRSU) on Wednesday celebrated its golden jubilee at the helipad in Chukitong
town on the theme "Embrace progressive vision."
- Member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (MLA) and
chairman of Bhandari sub-division planning and development board (SDPDB),
Achumbemo Kikon, was the chief guest, while the additional deputy commissioner
(ADC) of Mokokchung, Chumlamo Humtsoe, was the special guest and Chumbemo
Jerret Patton, a social development entrepreneur, was the theme speaker.
- Speaking on the occasion, Kikon recalled that the union’s
first session was attended by former MLA, Late TA Ngullie, as the chief guest
and expressed his happiness to attend the celebration. He highlighted the
significant contributions of key figures such as Lt. Pinyimthung Patton, Lt. NN
Ngullie and Lt. TA Ngullie, who were contributors, sponsors and patrons of the
union.
- Looking ahead, Kikon encouraged the students to focus on the
future, reminding them that they would celebrate the platinum jubilee in 25
years and the centenary in 50 years. He urged students to use their time wisely
and judiciously, making the most of opportunities to shape their future.
- The theme speaker spoke on "Embrace progressive
vision," emphasising a forward-thinking mindset that values innovation,
inclusivity and long-term growth. He stressed the importance of setting goals
and urged the youth to equip themselves with critical thinking, emotional
intelligence and adaptability.
- The event witnessed an exhortation from Khumkhothung
Ngullie, the first president of CRSU, who expressed joy at the union’s
progress.
- A silent prayer in honoured the pioneers was also observed.
- On the occasion, the chief guest released the jubilee
souvenir, while the jubilee monolith was dedicated by Sankiluma Kikon.
- The second session was attended Chumlamo Humtsoe as the
special guest.
