Kohima, Dec. 2 (EMN): For all those wired with the distinct propensity to go for the ‘hot stuff’, Chuka's exclusive 'Seriously Hot Sauce' has been bottled purely to indulge this rather uncommon craving—to have your palette set on fire.
The sauce is an authentic hot sauce made from 'Naga mircha' also known as 'raja mirja,' along with other ingredients such as vinegar, ginger, garlic, onion, and salt. The product is being sold at INR 170 per jar at Zatara Dimapur stall, one of the stalls at the Bamboo Craft Centre, at Kisama in Kohima. The chilli, it was informed, has been sourced from Jalukie in Peren district.
Manufactured and packaged by Root Agri Producers and Marketing Cooperative Society at Indisen village in Dimapur, the product was launched under the initiative of three entrepreneurs namely: Washipong Longkumer, Sentinaro Alley, and Sonam Inoka Khullu. It is being distributed in the market by Zatara Pvt. Ltd., Indisen village in Dimapur.
While interacting with
Eastern Mirror, two managers of the shop, Tiasuba Jamir and Nchumthung said that their stall vended 300-400 bottles of 'Chuka sauce’ for INR 100 during the previous Hornbill Festival. Other additional products like axone (fermented soybean), pork pickle, beef pickle, bamboo shoot with green chilly pickle, and green tea were also sold. They said that the company had a good sell.
Some of their products for this year's event will be chilli, meat, and garlic pickle which will be sold at a maximum price of INR 200. Though they were currently unavailable at the stall but they assured to make the products available it in the next few days.
The duo said that the company is targeting to sell 500 units of the sauce this year.
