Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur as a curtain raiser commemorating the 50th Anniversary grand finale, an Inter-School Cultural Dance Competition was organised on Sep. 16 at the School Ground where 12 schools showcased the “Colours of India” through different indigenous folk - Bhangra, Nepali, Bihu, Zeliang, Ao and Phom dances.
Chairman of the Red Cross Society, Dimapur Chandu Agarwal who graced the occasion as the chief guest said dance is the hidden language of the soul, a way to find and lose oneself at the same time. He added that dance teaches us to be a better person, a better version of oneself. He also encouraged the participants by making them know that not all dancers are great because of their techniques but because of their passion.
The judges for the cultural dance competition were Director, Indigenuous Cultural Society, Dr. H.Y. Chishi; Programme Officer, NEZCC, Oliver and Director of Dreamz Unlimited, Tiakumzuk Aier.
Pilgrim Higher Secondary School with their Bhangra performance took the top prize of Rs. 8000 and Dimapur Mission Higher Secondary School, the second prize of Rs. 5000.
The Best Costume was bagged by Holy Cross Higher Secondary School Dimapur and was awarded cash prize of Rs. 3000.
