Dimapur, June 6 (EMN): Christian Forum Dimapur (CFD) has decided to foster the Christian unity among all the Christian churches in Dimapur by organising various ecumenical programmes for the church leaders, women, and youth respectively.
The decision to this effect was taken during its executive body meeting held on June 4. The members have also suggested organising a common Christmas programme for the year 2019. The main objective of the programme was to enhance the spiritual growth and for sustainable development of communities in the state.
Rev. Moses Murry, CFD chairman, in his concluding remarks, stated that a collective spiritual awakening is the need of the hour especially where the values and principles of life has been at deteriorating point and has grown to great risk today.
“As the Church leaders, we all need to put our efforts together to retain our traditional and Christian values and principles of life. We the leaders need to play a significant role in strengthening the spiritual life of our laity in our communities,” Murry was quoted as saying.
The executive members have constituted a three member team consisting of its chairman Rev. Moses Murry, CFD advisory member Dr. P Dozo, and general secretary Fr. Dr. CP Anto to draft the constitution for the Christian Forum Dimapur. The meeting began with the invocation by Rev. RP Murry and concluded with a benediction said by Rev. Dr. Phuveyi Dozo.
